Although our program focuses mainly on intramural participation, players who attend travel tryouts will learn about basketball even at the tryout. Tryouts give the participants, as well as parents, an idea of where they currently stand with players their age. This is a good learning experience for the player because it enables the player to see the areas that need improvement.
No player is guaranteed a spot on a travel team and each year there are new players added to teams. The new travel players who did not make the travel team on previous attempts all have one thing in common; they all say that after they saw how good some players were, they worked twice as hard practicing dribbling, defense and shooting so they would be better prepared for the next tryout. So please, encourage your children to give it a shot.
